SUMMARY:CRPS Awareness Walk – Providence, RI
DESCRIPTION:Join RSDSA for a CRPS Awareness Walk in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 9am to 12 noon at the Carousel Village inside the Roger Williams Park Zoo\nThe Rogers Williams Park Zoo is located at 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI 02907. Follow signs throughout Roger Williams Park for directions to the Carousel Village, which is located just by the park’s boat house.\nRegistration is $20 and includes a walk t-shirt. The first 20 people to arrive will get a ticket to ride the Carousel!\nJoin us by visiting secure.qgiv.com/event/crpswalkprovidence\n—\nMy name is Wiliam Andrews. I am organizing CRPS Awareness Walk, Providence to raise awareness of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) in the state of Rhode Island. CRPS is an abnormal nerve condition caused by an overreaction to pain signals that the nervous system can’t block, and unfortunately, there is no cure.\nI was diagnosed with CRPS in 2016. Over the past seven years I’ve seen many, many doctors and  unfortunately due to the rarity of this disease no one knew what I had or had a clue to how to treat it. Because of the years in pain looking for good treatments, I am now dedicated to raising awareness of this rare neuropathic disease in Rhode Island and the New England ares.  I want other individuals and their families that have CRPS to been seen and acknowledged that CRPS is real, the pain is real and not to be judged for what they can’t control due this complex disease.\nThe CRPS Awareness Walk, Providence will support Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDSA) a non-profit dedicated to providing education, support, and funding research for better treatments and a cure.\nI would also like to meet other folks in my state that have CRPS, so we can support each other and not live in isolation due to a chronic syndrome.\nI want to bring awareness to this awful disease so others with RSD/CRPS know there is hope and that they are not alone. Be a Warrior with me today in support of the RSD/CRPS community and consider sponsoring/donating and joining us as we walk and advocate in support of research and treatment options.\nThank you to my friends and family for your support in creating CRPS Awareness Walk, Providence!\nFor more information contact Jeri Krassner at jkrassner@rsds.org.\n
