Door of Hope is calling all RSD/CRPS Warriors & Heroes to join us at Glasgow Regional Park for our 1st Annual “Walk in the Park for Courageous Kids.” This walk brings together individuals affected by complex regional pain syndrome formerly known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (CRPS/RSD).
The reason for our 1st Annual “Walk in the Park for Courageous Kids.” My name is Linda; I am the facilitator of Door of Hope. I have had CRPS for over 9 painful years. As an adult, my chances of remission are slim, but the chances for the younger Warriors are great. I would do anything to fund a cure, especially for our youngest CRPS Warrior, Leanna, whose walk with CRPS started a few days before her 19th birthday. Now 20, Leanna feels her life is over. She had to give up her dream of becoming a nurse. Through this group I met Russ, who also has CRPS. Russ was so touched by Leanna’s story that he felt moved to start this walk with me so we can help Leanna follow her dream. We want to raise funds to help all the young CRPS warriors whose dreams are just a painful memory.
More than just another fundraiser, a “Walk in the Park for Courageous Kids” will raise, at least $10,000 to send 58 children with CRPS/RDS and their families to a fully handicapable camp.
Create a team or join a team? Have your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and everyone you know help raise funds.
It will be a FUNTASTIC day!
Calling for people of all ages, who want to enjoy a day in the park and support a worthy cause. Parents, children, grandparents and even four-legged friends are welcome. There will be face painting, photo booth, refreshments, exhibits and plenty of raffles.
Our overall mission is to find a Cure, and/or improved treatments for this extremely painful and crippling disease. In addition, to supporting the “Courageous Kids Camp,” Community support is greatly needed to help us raise awareness and funds. We want to fund medical research to help those suffering from this rare and painful disease.
